Annotation as iteration

- [x] Annotation for me has also become very layered in my process and it speaks to the quick and interactive nature of it in contrast to the detailed and labourous side I presented

- [x] The more layers of annotation the more thought has been invested into the endeavour

- [x] Speak to the medium through which my annotative practice moves through

Medium of spatial practice

- [x] States of design

Mediums States Practice / Pedagogy

Site Drawing / Actual Practice / Pedagogy

Brief Text Practice / Pedagogy

Intent Text Practice / Pedagogy

Mood Image Practice / Pedagogy

Plans Drawing Practice / Pedagogy

Models Physical / Digital Practice / Pedagogy

Site- Original Actual Practice

Site - Demolition Actual Practice

Site - Construction Actual Practice

Space - Completed Actual Practice

Space - Photographed Image Practice

Space - Lived - Place Actual Practice

- [x] Annotation for me occurs across all the mediums and states of practice

- [x] And at this point Iā€™m selecting projects that would best demonstrate this particular nature of my practice

- [x] I have a selected a series of Shophouses that are in various stages of completion, they are all commercial conservation projects that I think will really allow me to showcase how i work through an existing site that has hidden surprises and you never know why the structure is really like in the ceiling

- [x] Where a lot of the design decisions that make the project unique need to be uncovered and then communicate while the construction underway

- [x] At the project level I would look at the layers of annotation that cut across the different mediums

- [x] The PhD emerges between these margins as another layer of annotation. One of probing experiences past and present, one of reflection, one of critique, one that would inform me

- [x] At my practice level

- [x] At the pedagogical level

- [ ] Text as annotated text shows this iterative nature. Angela Minnet had some really great examples of this and it is really interesting to see her research develop almost from the opposite of side of the spectrum.

- [ ] Mood boards became annotated mood boards

- [ ] Plans became plans iterated

- [ ] Site became an annotated site

- [ ] Use my own annotated sensibilty of space to design and in some ways annotated myself into the space in order to explore spatial qualities.

Process of layering

Thinking by annotating

Thinking by doing

Thinking by inhabitation

Building on self / Building on others

Mood boards / Plans / Perspectives / Site / Short Self / Long Self

Plan never changes vs plan always changes on site because of learned awareness of space. Knowing through sensibilities, knowing by immersion, knowing by inhabitation. Intentional sensitivity drawing from self immersion in spatial condition

Layering and transmitting and actual using what I know through annotation
